The Many Faces of Zae Wilde is a fictious bio-pic about a recluse 80s avant-pop icon who reinvents herself through a modern-day pop star.
A FICTITIOUS MUSIC BIOPIC
The Many Faces of Zae Wilde began with a question: why would a famous musician, living a life that would be the envy of millions, walk away from their career? Theorizing about the trajectories of our favorite musicians, like Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel, led us to another question: can you stay true to yourself while staying relevant? And how do you keep your innate childhood creativity alive? With adventurous visuals and a decade-spanning greatest hits album worth of original songs, The Many Faces of Zae Wilde questions what it means to be an artist and human coping with generational change.
In the 1980s, Zae Wilde was the mystical white witch of the pop charts, singing of fairies, spirits, and "The Muse", whose music she heard echoing through the desert canyons of her childhood. But, after an unsuccessful fifth album and a highly publicized car crash, she walked away from her career and the world. As rumors swirled, fans pondered: Did she have a mental breakdown? Or is she just happy out of the spotlight?
